The fashion industry is predicted to change as much in the next ten years as it has over the last 100. Consolidation, computerization and globalization are the major disruptions of today, and will continue to be as they morph and change. Fashion designers are at the forefront of these disruptions.Arguably, designers are artists. Today, a new dichotomy between artist and technician lies at the heart of issues surrounding the new role of the designer. The fashion designer now occupies a space between creative, technician and merchandiser, a framework and skill-set imposed by an increasingly competitive and demanding marketplace. The biggest pressure on designers, according to the Lectra/CFDA survey results, relates to speed to market: getting collections out quicker and quicker to continually renew the in-store offer. Consumers, at least those of fast-fashion and contemporary brands, have become indoctrinated with a ‘you snooze, you lose’ mentality. This retail strategy of changing merchandise as often as every few weeks to invoke immediate sales is a way of staying competitive and combating online sales. Consumer expectations and shopping habits are changing as a result -a circle which means more is being consumed, more often. In addition to shorter time to market and more collections, designers now have to deal with more competition. Brands need to differentiate themselves, while attempting to appeal to a consumer who is informed, empowered, less brand-loyal, mixing high and low pieces and not squeamish about shopping for the best price online.

Yet the new designer is not completely unarmed to face this new context: digital tools allow them to work fast, both by storing data to be reused as needed and by completely eliminating time consuming tasks such as manual grading, even reducing the need for physical samples to one, with the use of 3D virtual prototyping software solutions. The history of fabrics can be traced back to the 18th century where India was known as the main textile hub. Different types of fabrics were woven, embellished and dyed to enhance their appearance. The textile industry in India is the second most employment-generating industry. Indian fabrics are in high demand all over the world. The quest into the basics of Indian textiles leads to an in-depth study of textile science.Textile science plays a major role in the development of a fabric. The process of developing a fabric is quite complex as it has to go through a series of processes. As important draping and embellishment are to fashion design, so is textile science that holds a prominent place in the field.Fashion is our chosen skin.On an individual level it represents how we feel about ourselves and what we want to
tell the world about who we are.On a community level, it tells a story about our history, culture and social customs.

Fashion Design is the applied art devoted to the designing of clothing and lifestyle accessories. This art is influenced by cultural and social attitudes and has evolved over time and place. Fashion designing has come a long way from the designer clothes worn by the royalty of the ancient world to the haute couture products of the present.

Fashion Designing is one of the most lucrative, appealing, glamorous, and exciting career options in today’s world. If you have a penchant for creativity, style and originality, a career in fashion designing is the one tailor made for you. On one hand, the fashion industry satisfies both the creative fancies and the materialistic needs of the people. On the other hand, it promises glamour, fame, success and a high pay package to the talented people.
However, it is also a demanding career, as fashion designers need to combine their creativity with managerial skills to sustain in this industry. thus, if you can create magic with colours, shapes and designs, then just obtain a professional course to begin a successful career in the alluring world of fashion designing. Everywhere in the world, textile and apparel industries come together as an integrated global fashion ecosystem, in which cotton growers or manmade fibre producers, fabric manufacturers, designers and fashion-related media, all work towards promoting the current or forthcoming fashions for garments, home furnishing, lifestyle products and accessories. Fashion designing institutes and courses has mushroomed across the country in the last decade and yet textile design barely finds a mention when discussing careers in clothing or apparel design. For fashion illiterates, textile design is essentially the process of creating designs for woven, knitted or printed fabric or surface ornamented fabric. Textile designers are involved with the production of these designs, which are used, sometimes repetitively, in clothing and interior décor

Industry analysts believe that widespread impact that digital disruption is having on the sector and political factors like US protectionism and Brexit. The shifts to cloud and automation are forcing IT services companies to rework their model that depended on building custom software using masses of engineers. For the sector as a whole – including large, medium and small IT firms but excluding MNC captive centres – the growth in 2017 is expected to be a mere 5.3 per cent. That’s a steep drop from the 8-10 per cent that the industry is expected to do, as per IT industry body Nasscom, in the 2016-17 fiscal year

India is the world’s largest sourcing destination for the information technology (IT) industry, accounting for approximately 67 per cent of the US$ 124-130 billion market. The industry employs about 10 million workforces. More importantly, the industry has led the economic transformation of the country and altered the perception of India in the global economy. India’s cost competitiveness in providing IT services, which is approximately 3-4 times cheaper than the US, continues to be the mainstay of its Unique Selling Proposition (USP) in the global sourcing market. However, India is also gaining prominence in terms of intellectual capital with several global IT firms setting up their innovation centres in India. The IT industry has also created significant demand in the Indian education sector, especially for engineering and computer science. The Indian IT and ITeS industry is divided into four major segments – IT services, Business Process Management (BPM), software products and engineering services, and hardware. The Indian IT sector is expected to grow at a rate of 12-14 per cent for FY2016-17 in constant currency terms. The sector is also expected triple its current annual revenue to reach US$ 350 billion by FY 2025#.

News about the coming death of India’s information technology (IT) services industry started to trickle in about five years ago. KPMG broke the news of “the death of outsourcing” in a white paper in July 2012. In January 2013, The Economist reported that India was no longer the automatic choice for IT services and back-office work and cited a report by the consulting firm Hackett that the migration of service jobs to India (and other offshore locations) would stop entirely by 2022.

Despite such prognostications, there is also optimism about the prospects of India’s IT services industry for the coming decade. First, the industry has gone through, and survived, trying times before, such as the dot-com crash of the early 2000s and the 2008 financial crisis. Second, the major IT services firms devote significant resources to employee training and development, offering world-class facilities and educational programmes for new and existing employees. Third, some of them are also beginning to adopt new business models and develop new products and platforms to wean themselves off low value-added services and time-and-materials and fixed-price pricing models.
Finally, the $1.2 trillion global IT industry, growing at a rate of 4% a year, will continue to offer opportunities for IT services firms operating at all stages of the IT global value chain. CIOs (chief information officers), the primary customers for IT services, tend to be risk-averse and like to do business with firms with which they have had good prior experiences. All of these factors should continue to offer opportunities for India’s IT services firms for the foreseeable future.
However, not all firms will do well, or even survive, in the new, hyper-competitive global business environment. Only firms that continually upgrade their capabilities and offerings in line with emerging technologies and market imperatives can hope to survive and even prosper in this environment. There are five priorities for firms to pursue now to carve out a fair share of the IT services global pie for themselves in the future.

India is ranked fourth in developing Asia for FDI inflows as per the World Investment Report 2016 by the United Nations Conference for Trade and Development. That is endorsement at the highest levels – and real estate saw equity investment on a very visible return journey to India last year. Indian real estate has attracted $32 billion in private equity so far. The global capital flow into Indian real estate in 2016 stood at $5.7 billion. Throughout 2016, the number of new residential project launches was lower than units sold. With all states staring at the approaching deadline to implement their versions of the Real Estate Regulation & Development Act (RERA), most of them will definitely fall in line. This landmark law will enforce hitherto unprecedented transparency and accountability requirements for developers into the system, and do a lot to increase consumer confidence. Consumer activism, which has already been making news in recent times, will increase in distressed ongoing projects. And it’s not only RERA that the Indian real estate sector anticipates with bated breath. The Goods and Services Tax (GST) and the Benami Property Act will also have a major impact on how many developers run their businesses. Demonetisation shook up the older ways of working, but did not affect self-governing developers with the right products targeted at the working masses. The rest have realized it is time now to revamp their existing business models if they want to remain in business at all. Market watchers who had despaired of the Indian real estate market ever shedding its tainted image have every reason to perk up now.
